Just put some pictures of a Napoleonics game we began, but decided to call of last night after getting entangled in our own discussions. We will start anew soon and then it will be pictures plus a battle report.

Anyway… here is the link to the pictures:

Enjoy,

Burkhard

And the usual pre-view (as always more clickable pictures on the blog):

Hi Burkhard,

Wonderful terrain and figures.

I love the quality of your terrain an your Calpe Prussians look splendid.

Where did you buy the "wheatfields" from?

Thanks for posting,

Paul

The Prussians look fantastic. I've never given them a serious look but with shots like this, I'm tempted.

Thank you both!

@ Paul: The fields are just Teddy Bear fur from an online fibrils retailer here in Germany. There were four or five retailers selling the same stuff. I just picked the cheapest one.

@ Mark: When I started with Napoleonics I thought that they were bleak and only looked into them, due to my Prussian heritage. But once I started I realized how colorful they actually were. And the units for this battle are exceptionally so, since they include Guard, Regulars, Reserve, Landwehr and Jäger. And cavalry from a number of provinces. You can hardly get more colorful than that!

If you are interested in more detailed views of them… here is the link to the Prussian Gallery: link

Excellent work Burkhard!!.
Some day maybe I'll get my Prussians on the table.

Great looking game! Beautiful pictures.
What rules were you using?
Who makes the Grey Jager figure behind your line of Green Jagers?

14th Brooklyn14 Dec 2013 4:00 p.m. PST

Thanks and I would love to see yours, too.

The rules we were using were R2E (Republic to Empire). I would not blame the troubles we had on the rules though. We simply were our own worst enemies yesterday!

The grey Jäger are Austrians by Front Rank:

The post also goes into why the Prussian advent garde contained a company of Austrian Jäger.

Great looking game Burkhard, looks more like a moving diorama that a wargame, excellent use of the teddy bear fur, that is the greatest non wargaming product suited perfectly for wargaming ever invented.

Look forward to more pictures from you……….

Great pictures, figures and terrain.

Thank you guys!

Regarding the teddy bear fur, I just meant to buy it for long grass (after dying it green) but after using it once for wheat, I simply could not do it. Guess I will have to buy more one day!
