Anyone got ideas, on how to convert these in to useful terrain or anything else, hobby related? |

Without having one to measure they're probably big enough to hold 15mm figures. A sheet of magnetic paper and you could hold a couple of squads of figures. |

I've seen people make nifty buildings by stacking old VHS tapes, adding details
15mm I think. So maybe something similar with the cases? They're a more difficult sort of plastic to work with though, aren't they? |

You could probably convert them into buildings for anywhere from 6mm to 15mm sci-fi or even maybe modern. |

Just recently, I made my old ones into storage cases for my 1/300 WW2 planes.

You can use the gears inside for various large machine gears. I usually see them on the sides of planetary defense laser turrets |

I store my 6mm WW1 armies in them. I bought some 1/2" upholstery foam to line the cases and cut grooves for the figures to sit in. Then I printed out some natty inserts for the cases so I can tell exactly which units are in which case. I need to buy more though, because my WW1 armies are rather larger than I thought and my WW2 armies are complaining about favouritism. I have a couple of cases with 15mm skirmish figures in, but I don't think they work as well for 15mm. The neat thing about the video cases is that they rank up neatly on the shelf and are thus very easy to store. Also, if you are only playing a small battle, you can grab a couple of them and chuck them in a bag to take with you, instead of carrying everything anyway. |

I use them to store 6mm & 15mm figures I line the bottom with magnetic photo-paper and either have a magnetic sheet on the base or in the case of 15mm troopers metal washers

Thanks all. Neat idea with the cases But, my bad on the title, oops! I was meaning the inner cassettes, they don't seem to be recyclable in the UK. And as I have loads of them, was looking for inventive ideas, rather than send them to landfill. |

@ Terrement Sounds like a neat idea |

I love what you did with your VHS cases doublesix66. I am still have some but do you have any idea for a source for some more. Most of mine still have the old VHS tapes in them and since I have several working VCRS I don't think I will get rid of the tapes yet. |

@Winston01 I know a guy here who has a pack of 10-12 here that he'd ;like to get rid of. I am in Iowa. No idea what it would cost to ship them. |
