Designer mpennock has made some of his wonderful airplane models available in 1/288 scale. You'll find pictures at link They include several designs used in the Gran Chaco War, along with models useful to aircraft collectors. The latter include the Breguet 19A2, Curtiss F8C Helldiver, Fiat CR20, and Junkers K43 (a monoplane, easily convertible to a Luftwaffe K34). The models are in frosted ultra-detail (FUD) material, which means they're brittle, beautiful, and relatively expensive. If you're interested in aircraft of the 'thirties, check them out. They're all excellent models. |

He only advertises the planes in 1/100 or 1/144 scale. |

You're very welcome. I wish he'd offer those 'thirties tanks in 1/285. Mpennock's work is excellent. For those who haven't found the 6mm versions of the airplanes yet, try searching the Shapeways website for "1/288." They're still there, although the K43 seems to have been withdrawn for repairs. |

Shapeways designer Carlos2K10 is also producing a line of between-wars aircraft. They include the Fairey IIIF, Gordon, Seal and the Martin T4M torpedo bomber. He also offers eight members of the Hawker Hart family. They're in WSF (white, strong and flexible) material, which means they're rugged and inexpensive. Detail is quite nice. You'll find them at shapeways.com/shops/namw |
