There is an old and painfully difficult computer game series called SWAT; very unforgiving and tactical to play. Stringent rules of engagement, plenty of gadgets and lots of planning and co-ordination required to survive more than a few minutes. As I have just gotten my Aftermath warehouse, I have come to realise that none of my current favourite rulesets are particularly well-optimised for interior combat so I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations. RPG/skirmish elements are appreciated but I would also quite like everything to die very easily. Crossposted to sci-fi because I kind of want to have a Cthulhu-inspired campaign around it. |

Try Chain Reaction for free. link If you like the Reaction System in it then maybe try 5150 New Beginnings. |

Well, for detail, not necessarily to say for realism, the reigning champion is still 1989's _Phoenix Command_, I believe. |

Infinity. Lots of gadgets, and tactical thinking is REQUIRED to survive. Rules are free. Mechanic is nominally IGO-UGO, but each order you spend within the line of sight of an opponent's model grants them an Automatic Reaction Order. If you are trying to shoot them and they want to dodge, it's a simple opposed d20 roll under stat, HIGHER roll wins mechanic. Usually, active model gets more dice than the reacting model, so there is a big advantage to the active model. |

Hunt up the rules for Dogs of War. Small units, very limited in what you can do, and easily adoptable for interiors.

Rebel Minis is proud to announce our new 15mm modern skirmish game, Modern Havok. Modern Havok is a fast paced set of skirmish rules for modern urban warfare. Designed for our 15mm modern miniatures line, these rules are based on the award winning Chain Reaction System by Two Hour War Games. Players control gangs, law enforcement or even mercenaries in a bid to control the streets. The PDF even has 3 starting scenarios designed by Ed himself! Modern Havok is a standalone game and a great way to get started in the Chain Reaction system. link |

Another vote for Flying Lead, by Ganesha Games. Rules cover multiple modern skirmish genres, three dice and three measuring sticks per player. Very simple! There are a plethora of special rules to add chrome to your character models without too much fuss. Ed's suggestion of chain reaction is also good, especially as it is free! |

There was a set called "Counterterrorist" that covered SWAT type missions. Not sure if it's still in print or how good they were; I had it but never read through and ended up selling it. |
