Hi Gamers! This week we have a great interview with veteran games designer Howard Whitehouse of Pulp Action Library. He's a great designer of very interesting and entertaining games. I hope you enjoy the interview. Here's the link below: link |

I have known Howard Whitehouse for more than five decades, and I do not listen to a thing he says – especially about how I left him with the bill at that dockside bar in Mombasa. Also, his comments about my monkey were completely uncalled for. |

Actually MJS, my understanding from Mr. Whitehouse is that it was a baboon. Which if said baboon were asked, would be offended to be referred to as a monkey. While both are primates along with us homo sapiens are still rather distinct creatures. |

You guys are cracking me up! Thank you for reading! |

I thought Howard Whitehouse & Roderick Robertson were the same person, just with different facial hair. |

As if Mister Whitehouse did not have a hard enough time buying a hat that fit as it is

Has anyone seen Howard Whitehouse and "the" White House in the same place at the same time? Sincerely, Chris Parliamentbuilding |

A man of mystery, obviously. Very interesting interview with an apparently sober Mr. Whitehouse. I'm really looking forward to the Robin Hood and Chainmail Bikini rules! I haven't seen a magazine article from the man in years. Is there a magazine he contributes to, or is that use of his formidable talents a thing of the past? |

It is curious that the interviewer didn't ask about Wargames Factory or Defiance Games. |

Mr. Whitehouse wrote a 5,000 word article on Spartacus for Wargames Illustrated last year, but he hasn't written short pieces lately. He misses writing columns for MWAN and HMG. Mr. Whitehouse divides his writing time between work for Pulp Action Library and novels for young readers of discerning taste. You can find his Mad Victorian Fantasy series here: link "Zombie Elementary – the True Story" will be released by Tundra Books in 2014. Mr. Whitehouse considers it impolite to write about companies with whom he has no further relationshup with, especially those who failed to pay him for services rendered. |

Ah, I loved his MWAN articles. Golden days, indeed! Mr. Squint, could you give a kick to that Whitehouse fellow and, if he is articulate, could you ask him if he remembers which issue of WI that Spartacus article was in? I'd like to track it down. While you're at it, are the forthcoming Robin Hood rules basically the set that appeared in HMG years ago? I'll have to look into those novels! I have daughters (9 years old) who might enjoy them along with Dad. |

Fair enough "Jack". I thought Howard was still involved with Defiance Games. |
Lee Brilleaux | 12 Dec 2013 8:43 a.m. PST |
The Spartacus article was in last year's 'special' double-length issue devoted to 'last stands'. I don't know the number right now. The rules written for the 'Alien War' project have been withdrawn, and will appear at a later date under a different name and revision. |

Isn't it a bit disrespectful not to include his title ? As I recall from MWAN it should be Horrible Howard Whitehouse. |

Anyone recommend a suitable 28mm figure of him? Yes. Check the red arrow.
Also check the green arrow in the same picture. Mexican Jack Squint, slightly staggering and carrying his trademark bottle of Vermis Maleficus Tequila, once and for all proving who just isn't the same person as whom.

Actually I keep planning to paint up a figure of myself (HW, not MJS) as a conversion of a middle-aged Zulu body with a Celtic head. I'd paint it pasty British flesh-tone and paint on the glasses |
