looking thru the forum I cant figure out what game they are playing, any ideas?

The problem we found when using 3d terrain for rpg was the walls got in the way.
Players are used to sitting down and couldn't see what was going on because of the walls.
They also had a tendency to catch figures on walls.
For someone more used to wargamers taking care of their miniatures, knocking over miniatures to show they're dead is much more likely to chip on hard terrain.

As a result I would recommend anyone considering such a gaming set up for rpg take a look at vinyl lino and card instead. You can get lino with 1" squares or cut a load of 23mil squares of thin card and glue to thicker card. Or the thin extruded polystyrene you get under pizzas. This stuff is easily gouged to give it a 1" grid and you can paint up with house paint testers if you want to be cheap. Get an off white and black.

That's our conclusion anyhow. All the walls I made went unused after game one.
