This was the second game in the yesterday's session run by two other players. This game saw a Colonial expeditionary fleet stumbling upon two Cylon Basestars. The Colonials had to survive three turns before their FTL drives would be fully charged. Will they make it? The first turn saw the Colonial begin to scatter as the Cylon Raiders closed fast. On the second turn the Basestars launched an all out barrage – the results of which were devastating.
Seeing all hope lost, the remaining Colonial ships charge forth to try and do as much damage as possible. However, their effort was in vain as they only managed to do minor damage to one Basestar's regeneration baths, killing a few of the Cavil model.

Those poor Colonials. The Basestars look great. |

What stats/SSD's did you use? |
Whiteflames | 08 Dec 2013 3:16 p.m. PST |
UrbanWarrior, I didn't play this game (just took the photos). Hopefully Jim will stop by and post the SSDs for you. |

The Cylon Base Stars are very much a work in progress, even the points havnt been fine tuned just yet but since the game was 2,000 points and I only had 1930 i figured, even if my math was off, the game would be a fair match up. The vase stars have a few "house rules" in order to make them work properly. One is the port and starboard missle launchers have one extra arc. The idea is to allow the ship to fire the same amount of salvos in any direction. It worked well enough but needs some fine tuning. The second is any magazine can feed any launcher which, admittedly, is not a big deal. Regenerative armor is an interesting idea but is so unreliable im not sure its worth the points, esp when used in a shell configuration.
I hadnt counted on quite the slaughter it turned out to be. His light battlestar had a decent amount of fighters but limited launch capability. The rest of the ships were too small to be of much use. Hopefully our "Blue" colonial player will post his SSDs. Btw- great pics Whiteflame! Love the missile contrails |

Can hear the theme music from the TV series. Looked like a fun murderous game and who said space was a black void. Cheers |

Lol
we were joking about hearing the theme music while the game was going on. Thanks! |

What version of the rules do you recommend to a new player? |
jimklein1966 | 08 Dec 2013 10:27 p.m. PST |
Stick with full thrust light for basic demos. Fleet book 1 for regular play. After that you can play cross dimensions w very little effort. Warlord pretty much changes the game but not enough to be confusing. We sort of mix all three and have our own rules covering that. Are you setting up demos or training a player? |

Mostly just myself and my buddy as new players

Then i would stick with the basic rules in the fleet books for now until ya'll feel comfortable w them :) |

@Whiteflames, @jimklein1966, thank you for the replies and SSD. |

That was . . . A massacre. Just shows the effectiveness of SMLs if the damn things get through PDS. |
jimklein1966 | 09 Dec 2013 6:09 p.m. PST |
When ur being chased by 14 missile salvos and 16 fighter squadrons there is never enough PDS. From the cylon perspective tho, the base stars are very fragile. If they get hit hard enough they wont last long. |
