I have just finished two reviews of Russian Alternative miniatures. More specific their dwarfs of the fire canyon and their furious orc girls boxed sets and was really amazed by the excellent detail, character and overall quality of these miniatures. These miniatures are scaled 28mm heroic and could easily use with the popular rulesets available. Both reviews show the content of each box alongside pictures of the components and the eventual assembly. As always I have also included a scale comparison. If you're looking to expand your army of create a small warband make sure to check these out.

What do you think of these miniatures?

Fantastic break down. Thanks!

Though I will say that 10 figures for $32 USD isn't really a good price. That's $3.40 USD a figure. Then they sell there individual heroes for $20. USD Even factoring in the free S&H it isn't much of a deal.

Hi, Thanks for your quick response. The price seems steep but I have compared these with GW metal dwarfs and these retail for $24.75 USD for five metal miniatures so in comparison with those the price is good. True about the individual heroes though.

Kind regards

The figs look quite good. I like the variation possible with the multiparts, and the style is appealing.

The price point is an interesting one. It's cheaper than Reaper or GW's per-fig prices, and these are multipart metals. However, at the give price point, the cost to build an army of them for Warhammer, Kings of War, Armies of Arcana, etc. would be prohibitive and the cost for characters is pretty high as well.

Hi ordinarybass, you're right about the army. I would use these miniatures for a skirmish style game where you only need a small warband or smaller units. As you say the heroes are indeed overpriced especially compared with their common unit miniatures.

Kind regards
