With which 15mm SF range would you say this specific vehicle could belong?

Any guesses?

And would you make any modifications at all?

Thanks,

Dan

Something slick and high-tech, like the Clear Horizon Hell Divers or GZG's UNSC or New Israelis.

Redroom05 Dec 2013 5:50 p.m. PST

Looks like it could be converted into a vtol pretty easily too – nice find

Mako1105 Dec 2013 6:01 p.m. PST

Looks like a Judge Dredd vehicle to me, if they made minis in 15mm.

KJdidit05 Dec 2013 6:08 p.m. PST

Needs a remote weapon mounted on the upper deck. Other than that, very nice! Would look good with ACP's Federal troops, too.

Zagloba05 Dec 2013 6:38 p.m. PST

Thunder Road!!!

Paint it dirty and weathered and make use it as a colony sheriff.

Lupulus06 Dec 2013 6:16 a.m. PST

It's what Shalur mercenaries rebelminis.com/shmepa.html drive when they can't afford to bring their spider tank link

Cacique Caribe06 Dec 2013 7:48 a.m. PST

Hey, you are absolutely right. At just 97 cents each, they should be able to afford an entire fleet of these little cars!

would be a great little scout vehicle for any wheel/track bound army works for near future through hard core sci-fi – I have some of the old RAFM HO scale Heavy Gear stuff & it would fit right in with most 15/20mm sci-fi oriented forces – would be a great stable mate for the "Matchbox Armored Response Vehicle" or "Matchbox Armored Police Vehicle" – google it

Jeff W06 Dec 2013 11:51 a.m. PST

That's pretty cool. I might have to go look for one to compare a mini to.

McWong7306 Dec 2013 2:52 p.m. PST

Buy three, once Fury Road is released you'll use them for Mad Max gaming. At least I am.

Jeff W06 Dec 2013 3:51 p.m. PST

I wasn't quite able to sort it out from the links CC posted. When will these be available?

McWong7306 Dec 2013 6:56 p.m. PST

I've seen them inTarget in Australia, so if we have them I'm sure they're really available world wide.

The only one I found on ebay was about four quid with a bike I didn't need. Perhaps I wasn't looking hard enough. If they wind up (lots) less than that they'll be a great find: they are good looking buggies.

It's got Rebel mini's Shalur mercenaries, Japanese industrial combine troops written all over it, a great find

AVAMANGO07 Dec 2013 8:39 a.m. PST

They are really cool looking buggies and on E-Bay UK they average around £2.50 GBPp but the postage is the roughly the same price as the toy which makes them slightly less attractive for me.

It looks like a harsh environment settlement vehicle to me. Or maybe a postapoc (as the MM suggestions above). Whichever way, it looks minimalist (practical) and enclosed (for environs where people are best not exposed).

I think it would also make a nice unmanned weapons platform for 28mm. You know, drop a cannon or a couple of rocket pods on it.

Cacique Caribe11 Dec 2013 7:31 p.m. PST

How about using those Turbo Racers with these future cop-looking guys, as desert settlement troops?

Perhaps if painted in John Treadway's Mars-like color scheme:

Dan, what figure ranges are in the above post?

They're quite lovely, and I'm very inspired.

OctaChaz29 May 2014 3:06 a.m. PST

Seconded on those figure ranges grommet37. Would love some of those desert raider looking troops.

Cacique Caribe29 May 2014 10:13 a.m. PST

Do you mean these?

Those look like Old Crow.

parrot150029 May 2014 10:29 a.m. PST

Definitely gonna turn this into a VTOL. Nice find!

Cacique Caribe29 May 2014 3:47 p.m. PST

Parrot1500,

If you do, you've gotta show us how you did it!!!

Guys,

Have you seen the stunning paint job "No Such Agency" gave to a couple of those Hot Wheels?

Check it out:

At 15mm scale the car (which I just got 4 of) is pretty big. Even with a crew of two the footprint of the vehicle is large.

So, how to justify? Well, if it is treated as a long range recon vehicle the size would involve supply stowage, mission-specific electronics, fuel etc. The space on the outside of the vehicle would be used for additional stowage (that is what I plan to do).

Of course, they just look cool – more than sufficient for gaming purposes! ;)

grommet3729 May 2014 8:05 p.m. PST

Dan asked:

Do you mean these?

Yes, I see now those are Old Crow infantry, but also what are the desert troops and what are those vehicles?

Soldado30 May 2014 5:53 a.m. PST

Grommet37

It looks like the desert raiders are Rebel minis Sahadeen raiders

link

The vehicle is from old crow Goanna/gecko

Cacique Caribe30 May 2014 8:17 p.m. PST

Those! Yes, Rebel Minis. And, I'm told, he will be adding to them some time soon.

Dan

grommet3730 May 2014 8:20 p.m. PST

I have ordered some of those Sahadeen, through Scale Creep.

I hadn't noticed those guns, though (the ones that look like multi-missile launchers). I must look closer at the Rebel Minis site!

Is the vehicle in the Sahadeen photo an Old Crow vehicle?

I need to find his old site on the Wayback Machine.
