For those interested in magnetic basing, I was at Staples today and I came across these:

They're business card-sized magnets with adhesive backs. They're also thin enough to trim to size. Pretty handy for making quick bases!

Great find.

Look promising. How rigid are they and, I wonder whether they will warp.

They're pretty flexible. I'm not sure about warping. I doubt that would be an issue with smaller bases, but it's worth experimenting with if using a whole one as a base.

I use those to magnetize bases and so far no problems…

Office Depot used to have packs of these for super cheap at their checkout counters, but stopped that several years back. Staples has been the only place I've found recently that consistently carries them in store. I have been using these for many years to put magnetic bottoms on bases. They are too flexible to be a base by themselves.

2" X 3.5" for .23 apiece. Hard to beat that.

I have been doing the same as gamertom and agree with his observations. I bought a restock pack of business card magnets just a week ago. I use poster board for basing and put the magnetic card on the bottom. I have lined some tackle boxes with some of the rolled magnetic material I got at Michael's and transport my stands that way for off site gaming.
