Hi all!

Thought I'd share some photos that I took from my clubs rather large 15mm Austerlitz game during the past weekend. We used Blackpowder to depict the northern part of the fighting, which took place around Pratzen hills.

Marginal victory for France as they managed to capture the hills and beat opposition, but the Russians and Austrians still had reserves left and were far from routing. Some of the French problems came from the Russian special rule where they passed their first morale test automatically. A nice historical touch to show their stoic defence, but still maybe a bit too powerful as they really slowed the attack to a slow grind.

If you are interested, more pictures in my blog! link

'rather large', eh? Classic Finnish reserve. It's freakin' HUGE. And very impressive.

I have not yet played BP. And I am considering purchase.

I see the French attacked almost exclusively in column in this mega game.
Being documented wisdom, that barring no poor terrain forcing the issue ( REF: peninsular war campaigns) , columns attacking a line had a poor chance to succeed.
Can you explain further in regards to the rules?
Thank you

BTW- awesome looking 15s and game.
I hope some day soon I can once again participate in such a size of game!

Streitax: Boasting just isn't for us :)

David: All buildings are scratch build from foam board (I guess that's what it's called in english).

marshalGreg: Actually French attack colums were very efficient especially in the earlier Napoleonic conflicts. High concentration of troops in a small area worked wonders and eventhough the front rank took heavy casualties they protected the rear from musketry. The british were really the first ones to really succeed in dealing with the attack columns effectively.

In Blackpowder attack colums just get a bonus on the command roll to show that they were easier to handle and they also get a higher morale roll (to save casualties) in the beginning of combat and against shooting with muskets.
