What is the difference between GW Spearhead 1 and GW Spearhead 2 , does anyone know ? I have the Spearhead rules but obviously they are out of print so it would be interesting to know whether GWS 2 includes the rules to the game ( GWS 1 was just an add-on supplement ). |

GWSH 2 is a stand alone game. You no longer need WW2 Spearhead to play. |

What scale? Any non biased reviews out there? I went to their website but could not figure out much about the game other than it is WWI |

Scale is 1 stand is an infantry company or Machine-gun/trench mortar platoon. Manoeuver element is the Regiment with a regiment normally consisting of 12 to 16 infantry stands, 3 or 4 MG stands and an HQ stand. Normally you want to command at least a division. It is large scale gaming (we are refighting the Marne summer of 14). I won't give you any more as I am the author and am of course biased :) Shawn |

I'm biased too
but only because I play them. They are one of my all time favourite rules sets .. give me exciting, challenging games that more effectively model command decision making in WW1 than anything else I can imagine as an avid reader on the period. Warning: I am not a lover of skirmish games, which might help to explain my enthusiasm for these rules. Kind regards Robin |

Resurrection of thread, just ordered two copies. Basing question, for anyone using Irregulars in 6mm for GWS2
. for cavlary have you used 2 (2 figure) strips per base or just 1? The one looks a little less than impressive so we will be using two per base, but was curious as to how others may be basing. Thanks. |

I use one per base for cavalry. Works really well en masse. Two figure strips will work fine though. My goal was to build up as many stands as possible while painting as few figures as possible ;-) Robert |
