The Belgian Army –Blitzkrieg with Early War Miniatures
I have completely re-mastered the Belgian Infantry and support's for the Belgian Army and added many new models to the ranges. Figures are now listed as suitable for either 1917-1918 and 1940. The uniform adopted in 1917 is the same as used in 1940. It's the support weapons that are the major differences, with many of those in 1940 coming from the German Army as "war reparations" after WW1. Common was the ex-German MG08 and MG08/15.
If the figures have no date reference, they are suitable for both periods. Those indicated as either 1917-18 or 1940 are specifically for those periods. Its mainly an equipment driven feature in the miniature that puts it into a specific period. The Belgian Army in 1940 is full of great bit of kit and equipment, excellent modelling subjects and a real challenge to win with on the war games table. I love a challenge, and nothing sounds better than to Crush Ze-Germans with your Belgian Army on the table top!
Following my visit to Fort Lizel near Antwerp this month, I was inspired to revisit the range and re master, add additional detail and many new miniatures to the ranges. These have been moulded and are now available on the EWM web store.
This upgrade to the range means that a Belgian Army range for 1917-18 is now possible and figures suitable for this range have been identified and added to the OTT WW1 range.
The 1940 Ranges now boast a wealth of Support weapons including the 50mm DBT with 3 man teams, Maxim and MG08 HMG's, MG08/15 and FN lmg's plus a boyes ATR team. Most are available in deployed firing positions and carrying/marching poses.
The 47mm FRC ATG and 76mm FRC infantry support weapons have been re moulded and now produced with the right number of crewman.
