I have a crap load of Vallejos and would rather not have to order more paints. Are there vallejo equivalents to Tamiya NATO green and brown? |

There are a lot of charts out there for this. But for most of them you need to know the actual manufacturers numeric or alpha numeric code. Do you know the codes for the Tamiya colors? |

Okay Tamiya XF67 Nato Green and XF68 Nato Brown. According to Vallejo should XF67=975/89 (Military Green) XF68=940/138 (Saddle Brown) For Vallejo the first number is the actual product number if you need to order it. The number after the slash is the physical location in the rack (which is much easier to use if you are trying to find something on the rack) Beware, these may not be exact matches. |

According to their online color equivalency chart XF 68 NATO Brown is 940 Saddle Brown and XF 67 NATO Green is 975 Military Green. |

Thanks! I really appreciate it. I have a lot of saddle brown but I have to look at the 975. Thanks again. |

I think 975 is a littl dark, especially for French vehicles which seem to be a much brighter shade of green. This a GHQ Leopard 2 using 975
And this is GHQ Leopard 1 using Vallejo NATO Green primer which is a better color IMHO. URL=http://s53.photobucket.com/user/Cav-Dog/media/CIMG2986_zps923e1964.jpg.html]

Yes, the Vallejo NATO Green is fine if you are painting a real tank, but way too dark for small scale models. I lighten it with ochre or yellow. |
