With the current surge in interest in samurai wargaming (driven, I think, by well-marketed new rules such as Osprey's 'Ronin'), I would've thought there would be a market for some nicely produced decal sheets for the various clans? There is very little out there for 28mm figures. Veni Vedi Vici produce a very small range, as do Perry Miniatures. But that's about it. Yes, I know you can paint them yourself. But a decal provides more consistency. And the look of a nicely illustrated decal done by a graphic designer can be quite stunning. I'm talking here about decals rather than paper flags, because most figure manufacturers produce the samurai back-banner poles with cast-on flags. In my googling, I did find one guy ('Imperial Forge') who some years ago began producing a very nice decal sheet, but he seems to have disappeared: link So, does anyone know if any makers out there are planning anything along this line? |

I would be happy for anyone to do some decals like this. Especially if they came with explanations of clans banner colours etc. Steel Fist tend to do their research so I imagine whatever they bring out will be good. |

Having spent way too much time painting clan banners, decal sheets would have been very helpful to me. Many times the banner takes more time the the rest of the whole figure! Getting it consistent was a huge problem, and I picked some of the easier ones. |

is a big fan of the Age of Sail, and these ships really speak to him - he loves transitional eras, and the Anglo-Dutch Wars was one of those.
