I've researched in Mollo and various Ospreys, but haven't found definitive answers for this question. What were the standard colours and configuration for German officers' insignia, 1917-18 on the Western front? Were silvered shoulder straps still used, or edging on collars? And did different units still persist in using different coloured piping and so on? I can't seem to put my hands on a standard reference, and the internet hasn't been much help. I'm particularly interested in the stosstruppen, but would also like to know for artillery, and machine gun units as well. |

Rudi, thanks so much. Great resource. Google translator is a help. Only wish I'd studied German. |
