I've researched in Mollo and various Ospreys, but haven't found definitive answers for this question. What were the standard colours and configuration for German officers' insignia, 1917-18 on the Western front? Were silvered shoulder straps still used, or edging on collars? And did different units still persist in using different coloured piping and so on? I can't seem to put my hands on a standard reference, and the internet hasn't been much help. I'm particularly interested in the stosstruppen, but would also like to know for artillery, and machine gun units as well.

Rudi, thanks so much. Great resource. Google translator is a help. Only wish I'd studied German.
