Inspired by Bill Gaskin's figures in a recent Wargames Illustrated I have replaced my previous version of Sherburne's Regiment

Wow, they are great. The basing is some of the best I've ever seen. Great job all around.

Nicely done. They are one of my 2 favorite continental regiments. Haslett's is the other.

Nice photography as well.

Where'd you get the flag finial with tassel from? Redoubt?

Gnu200005 Nov 2013 11:32 a.m. PST

Finial is from Front Rank.

Thanks for the kind comments. I think I will do Hartley's Additional Regiment next in the pre-1779 uniform with white facings.

The painting and basing are very nicely done, but it is interesting how many wargamers have a "Sherburne's Regt" in green waistcoats and breeches, even though this was the personal clothing of just one officer.

And all the "14th Massachusetts Regts" with every man decked out in peach trousers from the Mollo/McGregor plate.

(Sorry, was that too curmudgeonly for a Wednesday morning?)

Are you feeling quite well? That is usually my kind of comment!

But they aren't all in green waistcoats! Some are in hunting shirts and a couple are in civilian coats :-)

And yes, way to grumpy for a Wednesday.

The next regiment has no hunting shirts so will seem almost offensively well dressed, so I'd better apologise in advance :-)

I'm sure Giles Allison doesn't get any of this grief…
