I love me some Fright Night. In a similar vein, I also liked Vamp. |
John Leahy | 31 Oct 2013 5:23 p.m. PST |
I agree about Fright Night. Good movie. I also like early Hammer Dracula movies with Christopher Lee. I like the atmosphere of Dracula with Frank Langella and Olivier. I also like large parts of Brahm Stoker's Dracula. |

"Let the Right One In" was a fantastic movie. The US remake "Let Me In" was a close second -- in some ways improved on the original, but no longer original in the effort. |

There a couple of fun made in Canada vampire flicks. Suck is a rock & roll vampire flick which includes Alice Cooper, Malcolm McDowell, Henry Rollins and Iggy Pop. There's also Blood & Donuts. David S. |

Glad to see there are fans of Lifeforce out there. One that hasn't been mentioned but could be a crossover for the Zombie category posted later (Heck, Lifeforce could fit into that as well) is The Last Man on Earth starring Vincent Price. While not exclusively belonging to either genre the monsters in this movies are Vampires and it is an interesting first take on the classic Matheson story "I am Legend". |

Yeah, I like LIFEFORCE quite a bit meself. LMoE with VP is detracted somewhat due to it being filmed in Italy, but
eh, I'll live. BTW, October's month Long salute to Vincent Price on TCM has convinced me that he may very well be the greatest "actor" (in the pure-est sense of the word) America has ever produced. He played everything from Errol Flynn types, to heavies, to comedian to Mr Horror and he was one hell of a versatile actor! In his later years he just chewed up the scenery and had no problem at all poking fun at himself and the genre that made him so famous! |
