Next year is the 1,000 year anniversary of the Battle of Clontarf.

I have plenty of Vikings and Norse Gaels in 15mm but I'd like to find some good early Medieval Irish figures, with either spears and shields (heavy infantry), javelins (skirmishers) or Danish axes (Dalcassians).

Donnington has some nice figures but they lack a US distributor.

What other manufacturers make suitable 15mm Irish figures?

Sgt Major Miniatures have the old Feudal Castings range.

Baueda's are well on the way. link

You will find Sgt Major Miniatures offering very hard to beat. Lots and lots of variety don't forget to look at the Ilsemen range for armoured troops.

Essex make some Ostmen.

Old Glory have Dark Ages Irish.

Irregular, Minifigs and Caus Belli all have some.

I ordered some from Donnington a year or two ago (I live in St.Louis--GO Cards)--I found them really easy to deal with and communicative. The figures were a little pricey with the currency conversion and their 40% shipping cost, but their medieval Irish sculpts are very nice figures IMHO, esp the cavalry.

It's that 40% shipping cost by Donnington that bugs me. In my experience, most UK companies only charge 25%-30% for postage.

I appreciate all the suggestions. Thanks.

The old Feudal Castings line is great.

Splintered Light has some beautiful ones

Minifigs only have ancient and rennaiscance Irish in 15mm.

Sgt. Major Miniatures has a 15mm Bloody Day line of miniatures.

Is that the old Feudal line under a new name?

Oh Bugger03 Nov 2013 5:38 p.m. PST

Yes that's right.

I had some of the Feudal figures and they looked great. From the pictures they look quite similar in style to the Splintered Light figures. Perhaps someone knows how they compare size-wise.
