Hello, I wanted to know if there were English units in t and w. box control groups to call to arms, I think they are "too British" for Europe. There were whole units in Europe?. As would be carrying flags? |

There were whole Scottish units in service of Denmark then Sweden. They would probably adopt the local clothing. historyreconsidered.net/14.html I don't know of any whole English units. |

In 1633 the Marquis of Hamilton raised an English Army of 6,000 for service with the Swedes. However, the losses to disease and desertion were such that only 400 survived to fight at the battle of Lutzen. They were brigaded with Lodovick Leslie's Scottish Regiment. There is some reference to uniform clothing, including Monmouth caps, but no colour or colours are mentioned. (MMA 235, the army of Gustvus Adolphus #1) |
