Here is how I made up a British force to use with Dux Britanniarum from Wargames Factory Saxons.

I used a box of Saxon Thegns, a box of Saxon Fyrd and a box Celt Cavalry.

They are not perfect but are a cheap way of getting started with figures that are good enough for what they represent.

Nicely done.

The plastic Norman knights with round shields and helmet heads from the Numidian infantry make passable Romano-British cavalry.

Westwind do some separate Romano British heads, just swap them to make some very convincing troops.

Referring to my post above, here are some I did earlier

Cool! Good luck ever getting to the point were you actually need the Saxon cavalry for a game in your campaign. We've been playing for nearly a year and neither side has ever gotten any reinforcements.

How many games?

@axabrax

At the rate I paint and get figures ready to play it made sense to get all the figures ready before coming to grips with the rules.

It also makes them more sellable if I decide not to continue with them. Hopefully that is not the case.
