Hello, I've reproduced the basic action card deck in mini card size with Artscow because I can't be bothered to cut out the cards and wanted to make a few changes to the layout. I have reviewed the results over on my blog One Project Too Far for those who may be interested in having a go. Results are not perfect but I think it beats Staples or Office Depot.

Ok, I've read your blog, but I'm no wiser as to what is is about the original cards you did not like. I can see that you use a dice for the morale number now, but personally I don't think that's an improvement. |

1. As I said, I don't like cutting out cards printed from a PDF 2. I have ordered a full set from Sam but as I've written I'll be supplying the decks for myself and my opponent. So either I play with Sam's cards and give him crappy PDF cards which is poor form, or I do the opposite and I'm the one stuck with PDF cards. 3. These cards are smaller as they are micro size which I prefer to full size 4. The dice with 1-3 pips are just a way of replacing roman numbers with something I (emphasis on I) prefer. As to what is is about the original cards I did not like ? I don't really like the fact that you need to buy two full decks for a game in order to have two full sets of basic action cards. By making my own set of the free cards (and having them printed rather than printing them out myself), I have two identical decks of decent quality for both players and they are easily sorted because they are colour coded. And I can have them in addition to my official pack for less money than a second official pack. Of course, if you are a member of a club that is packed full of dedicated Longstreet player this is moot. But is you are trying to win players over without telling them to fork out 18 bucks to have a try, then it isn't Oh, and my cards have reasonably consistent placement of images and text rather than images varying widely in height. ;-) |
