You had me all excited, I thought you were gaming the old TV show. |
ajbartman | 23 Oct 2013 4:44 a.m. PST |
Yep. Really liked that show. |
PraetorianHistorian | 23 Oct 2013 6:52 a.m. PST |
Yea, every few years I pop the DVDs in and rewatch the series. |

Very handsome work, indeed! I'd probably save it from the table, and put it on the wall. ;->= However, I also was getting excited to see Hammerheads and Chigs swooping, and burning noiselessly in the aether. Sounds like a good X-Wing port! I know somebody does figs. Tried Studio Bergstrom, but not getting through at the moment. Doug Edit: Yeah, I went to Studio Bergstrom, but there seems to be a magnetic storm or something. ;->= Chigs would be relatively simple to bash/proxy, though. |
Darkrazor | 23 Oct 2013 7:51 a.m. PST |
Bergstrom does a reasonable USMC Hamerhead there are no Chigs that I know of out there. Tholians from Game Science might work but they are a little high in price, I would think only a few are needed though. |

Chigs and Hammerheads- forgotten all about them! |
Mako11 | 23 Oct 2013 8:31 a.m. PST |
I think someone does Chigs. Check the Star Ranger website. Nice mat, by the way. Well done! |

I was also hoping for Hammerheads and Chigs burning silently through the wide, deep, and high. GZG also does hammerhead fighters in their Full Thrust line, but that's fleet scale. Tholian and Minbari fighter make OK chig fighter proxies. There's a great ISSCV model on Page 11 of By Dagger or Talon, but no maker is given. I *think* it's 15mm. |

Checked out Star Ranger, which mentioned Eureka still producing the old GZG UNSC Hammerheads, as well as Brigade Models Kondor gunships, both a bit small for a fighter-based game. The Brigade Models Squadron Commander Reheat 'Hornisse' would be good with the addition of the head for the hammerhead. ;->= Still not finding Chigs; however, while I originally dismissed using a Tholian cruiser as the start of a bash, it's starting to grow on me. No, really, that mat's art is too nice for the table. Also, start cheap (plenty of free rules sets) so you can compare your experience to FA, which is in process for a re-re-issue, which MAY be worth the wait. Doug |

Very nice artwork! I didn't see the dimensions, but it looks pretty large. That's a good thing for Firestorm Armada, since the miniatures are pretty hefty. |

beautiful board, but I was also a bit disappointed to not see something related to the show. |
Parzival | 23 Oct 2013 4:59 p.m. PST |
Very nice paint work. Are the planets painted on, or are they separate, movable discs? (And I echo other responses about the show— I was a big fan back in the day, and still am. I even got my wife to like it.) |
Hazza31B | 23 Oct 2013 6:00 p.m. PST |
Sorry to disappoint all with the title. The planets are painted onto the board. |
TheBeast | 23 Oct 2013 7:29 p.m. PST |
Sorry to disappoint all with the title. As long as you aren't too upset at what turned out to be a bit of thread hijacking, focus on the praise. I mean, damn

If you are looking for Fed/Terran and Chig ships look up SCN and a fantastic designer called Ender , the carrier occasinally appears on ebay. Sorry , can't do links , beyond my capabilities . [SCN = Starship Combat News forum] |

Ender's shop-on-blog: link Not seeing any of the fighters, though. Thanks for the pointer, though! Doug |

No- Not knocking the table in any way! It looks too good to play on ! |

Great table, good show! My one big peeve (even as a teenager!) was the lit faceplates. Sure, the audience can see who's inside which suit of armor, but it'd bring every sniper within a 3-mile radius! |
