Does anyone here in the US subscribe to Wargames Soldiers & Strategy? I was wondering if a subscription gets us the current issue sooner than we get it on the newsstands and if so by how much sooner? How they mail it. Do they place it in a protective envelope or do they simply place a mailing label on the magazine and then mail it to us, meaning that my local post office would most likely chew it up before delivering it to my house like to do all my mail. Of course, I have seen the magazine in pretty poor shape on the shelves of Barnes & Noble, even before anyone gets to "read it" in the store (aka the B&N Library). I was thinking of also doing the digital subscription. |

I get mine here in Canada before it hit's the local hobby shop. It's come in a plastic bag and in an envelope, with a cardboard stiffener in as well. No problems with it being chewed up. |

In case it matters I get Medieval Warfare magazine from overseas (same publisher?) and comes in a protective plastic sleeve with a paper backing. |

I have a digital subscription. It is great and the best way to go for me. |

We send out subscriber copies within days of the magazine's return from the printer. They go out via priority mail in a (since October) heavy sealbag. We do regular subscriber surveys about the speed (about six weeks before it hits US stores) and quality of delivery and though 100% perfect is impossible with such long postal chains, we get pretty close. If for some reason your copy arrives damaged, we do our utmost to set that right. And Striker, yes, AW, MW and WSS are all published by Karwansaray. |

Thanks, fellas. Sounds like they still ship it "old school," with good protection. That is refreshing news. |

I get mine by subscription in Australia and it always arrives in pristine condition. |

Thanks for all of the replies. I am tempted to subscribe since it takes so long to hit the local book store. |

I have an analog subscription. Works just fine to USA. Very happy. |

Just taken out a digital subscription. Fast. Excellent quality on my tablet (Acer Iconia
can't afford an iPad). No storage problems and you can easily print out a specific article if you particularly want it as 'hard copy'. |
