I thought I'd post a link to pics from my latest game. It was Civil war skirmish game that I played this last week. Small fight outside of Lewinsville VA in Sept 1861 The scenario came from Chris Stoesen's Coming Thunder scenario book Sharp Practice -Terrible Sharp Sword rules. 15mm minis and an excuse to use some Fall foliage and ragweed. link I will be running this game on Game Day on Nov 2 in Marietta, GA at Giga Bites Cafe. so if you want to get some solid historical gaming in and are in the Atlanta area stop on by. link to Giga Bites Cafe site: giga-bitescafe.com/index.php Link to last year's pics of Game Day: link

How did it go using 3 man stands for Terrible Swift Sword? Great looking game! |

Sloppypainter My stuff was actually mounted for a different set-can't even recall the name now. So most were at 4/base with plenty of singles for "change". So since TSS calls for 8 man groups you could break some up into single man bases and make 2 X 3 man bases and a couple of singles for the basic 8 man group. |

Very nice! How many figures do you need for most of the scenarios in the book? |

Since these are based on historical encounters the number of figures is all over the place from scenario to scenario. A force of about 80 infantry (10 groups of 8) with 6 big men for each side will cover most cases. One scenario has just 23 Union infantry against 16 Confederate cavalry. There are some cavalry heavy scenarios as well. One has 7 groups of 8 Confederate cavalry. I just flipped back through to give you some examples. For artillery just one piece per side should be plenty. Does that help? |

Yep, it helps, thanks! I just wanted to know if they fell into the small (1-50 per side), medium (50-100), or too-large-for-me (100+) side of things. Cheers, Christopher |

Thanks for the comments. I wanted to do something that didn't look like the ordinary ACW game. Mark |
