'In its three hundred year history the Space Gallantry Cross has only been awarded on very few occasions. On planet Adelphi 12 in the Theta Sector a contingent of Federation Battletroopers and one combat droid held back a frenzied attack from the massed forces of Draculux Longfang's mutant horde. For sheer bravery of the Officers and men the unprecidented number of 12 SPCs were awarded'.

I've been running a few games based (loosely) on Zulu, Ghosts of Mars and the Reavers from Serenity. I have a mining site which has a small garrison of troopers (black painted Guardsmen) and one combat droid (a heavy weapons Space Marine) holding off a much larger amount of mutants (House Cawdor and some rather nice Chaos Cultists I got from SELWG).

So far the Federation have managed to hold out against the onslaught but its all down to the luck of the dice!

Sounds fun. Love to see some pictures if you've got any. I do like mutants my own mutant horde was cribbed from all over the place there are some great mutant miniatures out there.

Sounds good to me, too. What rules are you using? any pics?

No pics coz I don't have the right kind of camera and am a technophobe. The rules are ones that I cobbled together from conventions I've been to, essentially its down to a higher intiative roll than your opponent, and if the roll is much higher the dead on that side were 'out shot' and don't get to move or fire. I roll to hit and then to kill. A D10 for Grunts, a D12 for Space Marines and a D20 for Terminators.

Groovy. Using your own rules is where it's at!

Thanks billthecat, I got sick of having to fork out cash for new rulesets every few years, and my system works for me. And if I don't have a solution to a problem in my rules, I'll have a look at Rogue Trader.
