What are the "posts" extending from the vessel just between the from Guns on the port and starboard sides for? I had an idea they were for anti-torpedo netting or similar? (if there is such a thing). |

Those are for boarding from launches. There are rope ladders hanging from them. Anti-torpedo nets went out of fashion about 1916, were really only useable in port and added weight when at sea. |
