Just picked up my first planes since the switch from WoW to WoG. Yeah, I know, but air war is not my #1 interest.

Bit of Triplane fest with a – Sopwith and new Dr1. I don't know if it's the finish or the fact I've not purchased any new models in a while but they seem a lot sharper in appearance than the old WoW items.

One thing I don't care too much for are the new flight cards. Is it just me or are the tracks hard to read/see, compared to the originals?

Can't say I've noticed any significant difference

The quality of the new aircraft is increasing. The reprints of series 1 were pretty poor compared with the WoW equivalents. The latest series much better though. And +1 on the cards. I never use WoG damage cards as i find them very difficult to read and visually far less attractive than the originals.

I had a WoW game and found it bland What ti s the difference ? is there a review somewhere ?

The quality of the finish on the models does seem to be much better however, the quality of the models remains patchy. The Sopwith Triplane is very poor and a huge disappointment to me. The wings are far to close and on some I've seen the central portion of the top wing has a pronounced bend where it's been pushed down to meet the short struts – a disaster really.

I think we really shouldn't abbreviate Wings Of Glory down to its initials. They spell a word which is generally considered to be very offensive these days!

Trajanus15 Oct 2013 9:03 a.m. PST

Is that meant to be funny?

Cerdic15 Oct 2013 2:18 p.m. PST

Not funny. Just an observation.

It was heavily debated when the name of the rules changed from "…War" to "…Glory". I think in hindsight (and chattng to a few of the company people) they were completely unaware of the term, were basing their decision to change the name on an inaccurate belief that someone else had claim to the title and, on reflection shouldn't have gone for the change.

Well I have to say written as WoG it never entered my head anyone could even conceive a racist connotation from the usage.

Not to mention the fact that I wouldn't expect anyone outside the UK and possibly Australia and New Zealand would have a clue why it would be so.

Not an advocate of its use in the abusive sense – just for the record.

The Wings of War originals, especially the two-seaters, command a King's ransom! I have found some new models in Australia and New Zealand but quite hard to find in the US. Looks like Wings of Glory has only added their collectibility Worldwide.

Does anyone know of artists who will do commission work repaints, rigging etc, on a regular basis as with other miniatures?
