Hi, Does anyone know of a computer program written to control a wargame campaign. Periods would be ww2 and napoleonic. Needing something that handles hidden movement, scouting supply etc Thanks, Mike |

I think the Berthier system may be what you want to try. I've never used it but I understand its what the cool kids use. link link link Jim |

I have used Carnage and Glory to refight the 1809 Italian Campaign. covered hidden moves, supply, march columns for conscripts to the front, spies, locals working with or against you etc. It has been a few years since I gamed it. It is windows based, has multiple campaigns for Nap., ACW, SYW, WSS, AIW. Easy to move campaign to tactical games. Also covers, fatigue, ammo etc. Force marching for days without rest will reduce your strength and affect morale. I remember one game where I forced marched my Franco-Italians to cut off an Austrian force. They were so tired, I spent the first few turns sitting in place bombarding the enemy, until my forces had recovered enough to launch an attack. Then the enemy got away as my forces were too tired to pursue. Lost contact. Great fun. |

I use carnage and glory but is there a campaign system or do you mean you used Berthier? Mike |

I believe Nigel is creating a campaign version for C&G, but it isn't out just yet. At any rate it has been requested many times. C&G that I use are for tactical engagements only. |

I've had a look and it seems berthier is just about the only option. This is a real surprise. Haven't looked for a campaign program in years but thought sure something would be available by now. If not a computer option what's the best paper set campaign rules available commercially or otherwise. Thx mike |

Hi Inkbiz, They are still going strong with new versions and upgrades. They work well on Windows 8 tablet as well (but not the RT tablet). |

It isi indeed the future. We are developing an IOS and Android moderated campaign system that you can use much the same way you discribe the game you played. The exception being it generates OBs to take to the table when contact between forces is made. We should have it out for purchase by summer for $10 USD or less. We were initially just doing it for our group as a way to ill inset the double blind paper maps we had been using but the further we got in spec'ing it out the more we realized its potential for use in any game system. Does not matter if it's 40k/Warmachine or Napoleonics/ACW you can use it to run your campaign live over the internet between devices until you have a contact you would want to pull the minis out to resolve. You r absolutely correct that this kind of gaming aid is the future |

Very excited to hear that such an app is in development! Started looking for a computer moderated campaign system a year ago and was dismayed that none were really available. |

Is the campaign system standalone? By that does it only work together with units entered for the technical combat system or can you buy the campaign and set it up separately? Mike |
