Rod Langton's 68 gun Dutch 3rd rate is a beautiful model. The detail is so crisp, proportions so perfect, it was an absolute pleasure to build after so many Navwar and Davco ships. I have not yet done the research to determine what ship she might be for name, armament, etc. It is so difficult to find any information on the Napoleonic period Dutch.

Very nice, love rod's product! In his AD wars rules/scenarios, there seem to be OOBs which have Dutch ships identified. |

That's a pretty little ship. Ron |

Beautiful work Vol, and I love that you've modeled the boat being lowered over the side by the tackle. I've never seen that modeled before. Very cool! - James |

Thanks James, coming from a master modeler such as yourself, that means a lot. And thanks for the kind comments Coelacanth, Dave, and Joe. Jowady, Thanks for the list of ships I can look up. The Revolutie I know, but Navwar's model of it calls it a 64. Threedecks.org lists it as a 64 in one record, but alternately as a 68 renamed version of Prins Frederick in another. Very confusing since both records indicate it is the same ship captured by the British in 1796 and renamed HMS Prince Frederick. Niether record defines the armament. Davco also has the model Prince Frederick calling it a 64. Suffice to say what little information there is on the Revolutie is conflicting. Hopefully I will have better luck with the other names in your list. Regards, Vol |

I am not very knowledgeable about the Dutch Navy. All I knew about the names is what is on the old Ship of The Line rules so I'm strictly relying on someone else's research. And a single source at that. |

I looked up all of the names on your list and hit paydirt with five of them. Thank you. Without the names to begin with it's hard to find anything. I'm still having trouble finding information about armament under the Dutch flag. The only armament info is after they were captured and rearmed by the Brits. Thanks again jowady. |

Try using threedecks.org to search for what you want. I did a search for all ships of Holland with 68 guns in service in 1800 and it spat out this list: Verwagting Oldenbarneveldt Pluto Zeeland Kortenaer Johan Neptunus Revolutie Schrikverwekker The database results also include launch and destruction dates and a lot of other info I trimmed for this post. - Ix |

Looks great. Is the hull painted Orange? |

11 ACR, yes it is orange, a color favored by the Dutch. Yellowadmiral, thanks I do use threedecks.org frequently for Spanish ships right now. Wow, this was done back in October! I was really surprised to see it at the top again. |

Thanks Volunteer. I was not sure. You know how some times color can change in photographing miniatures. I have a large fleet of 1/600th scale Napoleonic ships. But not any Dutch ships. As of yet. I have two new ships I'm working on so this may be a idea to go with. Thanks. Bob |
