Did the Prussian uniforms change much from the French Revolutionary period? |
Fanch du Leon | 04 Oct 2013 2:20 p.m. PST |
Yes definitely:
The first four figures from the left are suited for 1792-95 wars with France. The last two are more from 1798, where Prussia wasn't involved anymore in the FRW. |

Just ordered a set of the Musketeer Command! |
Musketier | 05 Oct 2013 2:33 p.m. PST |
Lovely figures, great to see them in the metal at last! My only niggle are the officer poses: Please, please, could we have one closer to regulation? Sword at the shoulder, eyes front, lead by example and leave the bawling to the sergeants. This is Prussia's professional army, not some bunch of revolutionaries! So for the time being, looks like I'll have to plan my units with just a mounted officer

Please look at the bicorns. They are not quite correct in style. Stephen |
awminis | 06 Oct 2013 2:12 a.m. PST |
suumerfield what is your point with this type of message? The hats exactly look the same than the ones in my Elting books. So what is your point ? You are creating the same range and you want to ruin their efforts in creating this range? Did you criticize all the figures from other ranges that are not correct for you ? Where are your word about other 1806 Prussian ranges ? I have never read you complaining from Perry or Foundry or whoever. So I think these have made researches and the sculptor made his job: so their are both silly ? Ebob is one of the best sculptor in the industry and I think his work is always excellent. I am fed up with those guys who think they know the only truth and who think they have a mission. I have already bought figures from them and I will do again: now if you do not like the figures you should respect their work anyway, keep your negative advice for inner circle and buy your figures from other manufacturers. If you can only write things like I am going to stiffle you as I do not want to read that type of things anymore. |

Very nice range. The mounted officer is really nice. |

I think Dr. Summerfield wanted just to point out that the hat of 1792 and that of 1806 are different, as well as the tunics of course. Prussians 1792
Prussians 1806

I was under the impression that these were supposed to be for the Revolutionary Period and obviously they are not due to the uniform changes. They are only relevant for the 1805-1806. I have written 4 books on the Prussian Army and currently finishing my fifth. Elting books are not the best reference for the army. Stephen |

Thanks for all your coments and for orders already sent. Musketier: do not worry we are working on other officers and Ncos. They are closer to the drill than these ones. Awminis thanks for your support but please do not be so aggressive towards Dr Stephen Summerfield. I already own his books and I think they are awesome. I will buy the next ones too for sure. Cheers Franck |

Revolutionary period 1806-1807? 1806-1807 WAS the topic of the OP. But I *have* enjoyed several of your works. |

Brunet so they are bicorns: have a look at the picture in the previous post and make your advice my friend. Ebob and us are very happy with the look he manages to give to our figures and a lot of previews and pre modles have been made before we found the style we want. Cheers Franck |

The bicorns are correct for post 1798 Prussian Uniforms but differ from the 1786 uniforms as already noted. Sorry for the confusion. I was answering the question over whether they would be suitable for the revolutionary period. I did not look at the title of the discussion. I need to wake up more. Currently drawing Grenadier Mitres and compiling the Chef names with dates. Stephen |

Dear Franck I am still dealing with Frederick the Great's Infantry. The Revolutionary and 1806 period is still some years off let alone finding suitable illustrations. Thank you for your confidence. Stephen |

I did not look at the title of the discussion. UNDERSTANDABLE!, considering your CONSIDERABLE previous *and* current research on the 18th century Prussian Army!

Is it anticipated that a matching 1806 French range will be sculpted dwon the road? |
