New Odd Jobs post on the blog showcasing a kitbashing project from way back in 2001 when I was still playing Warhammer 40K: link

Great stuff, Rich. Really menacing pose. Read your blog entry and I love the idea of having crackling force lightning blasting out if its palms – but since energy effects are so hard to make convincing on a mini, I think it looks great just as it is. |

I could probably pull it off these days – take some suitable wire, kink it into interesting shapes, paint blue-white or neon green or even a bright purple, then add some subtle lighting effects. Not really so hard. Twelve years ago, I didn't have the confidence or skills to even try. Miniatures painting is one place where improvement with practice really shows up clearly. |

That does sound good. Now that you say it, I'd love to have a go at some force lightning myself, though my painting skills are nowhere near your level of mastery! I've got this necromancer figure pointing evilly who looks suspiciously like the Emperor – he needs energy crackling from his fingers! |
