Okay, so I am typically a player
my group has had an unforgivable experience with a gm who had a God syndrome
so I took the initiative in picking a simple mechanics game, and they wanted me to gm. So instead of the typical gm build, I let my characters be what they wanted, name the country, and even explain why they were where they were
. so basically our first session started with a character (a winged human, dark priest of a very powerful demon) melting the chains on a slave train, and our sorceror character killing a guard to aid the bird man. Then we had a player turn into a werewolf, and slaughter 5 more people
. the players ended up flying away, burning the city, and hiding in a cave.
The cave was a dungeon complex, filled with cultists, and a troll
the game session ended with the Pcs about to enter a hidden door 6 levels below the cave
.
There is no definition on this game
there are no set limits of magic and races
so what should be behind that door? What secrets could these players find to motivate a campaign? I am building the world as we play, making the game be a big sandbox for the players to romp around as they please. So help, please. I want this to be entertaining.
By the way, we are using barbarians of Lemuria, house ruled.
Give me some ideas!
So far: demons are powerful, humans are dominant race, "non humans" (werewolves, birdmen) are not accepted in society, magic is very high and very powerful, although only slightly common. That is all we have so far. Thanks
