What's "sexy" about it? Trust me, of whatever can be labeled "sexy" in this world, a wargaming model is not on that list. But it is a well done piece of kit for an SF tabletop. |

While the general layout is decent, I can't say I'm a fan of the final design. It's a bit too busy looking for me. |

2. Slang Highly appealing or interesting; attractive: "The recruiting brochures are getting sexier" (Jack R. Wentworth). Oh, yes. I know it's buzzword talk. Doesn't make this usage any less moronic, cliché or banal. And using the dean of a business school as a usage example doesn't diminish the accuracy of that assessment one whit. |
khurasanminiatures | 25 Sep 2013 11:14 a.m. PST |
Well, you may not like the usage, but that doesn't mean it can't be labelled sexy. |

fullerena | 25 Sep 2013 12:40 p.m. PST |
If I had to guess, the reason this is here is because it's a rubbish small fighter
thing, but in 15mm it'd be a good base for a larger dropship or transport. £95.00 GBP is a wee bit much for something you're hacking the guns off of though. Unless you're mad.
which I suppose means someone just ordered two to convert. Parzival, sexy is perfectly cromulent slang for something, although I wouldn't rate this as a slice of fried gold. and not a single aerofoil was seen that day
..
Blame the Imperium. They're all a bit thick, so if you put a space marine or navy pilot in a brick with engines they'll say the prayers, smoke the incense and fly around all day quite happily. Now, a proper orky design wouldn't stand for that. Any ork knows a plane's gotta have proper wings, and if a mek tried to pass this off as a plane they'd laugh and krump 'im. The ork plane may not USE the wings, especially if they came off during a ram and the engines were powerful enough to put a thousand ton cube of iron in orbit, but no self-respecting ork would fly one. Not like those imperials. No self-respect at all. |

As someone who once had a *very* special dream about an Sdkfz 222, I feel that I am uniquely qualified to use the first definition of sexy to describe miniatures. |
AWuuuu | 25 Sep 2013 1:27 p.m. PST |
Like with everything Cacique Caribe :) I am looking for larger kind of dropship. Company infantry+ vehicle size. So I like this frame. Large dropships are seriously lacking in 15 mm and even if they are converted, despite great effort still look mostly blobish . This overpriced piece of resin is easy job. Drop the guns add ramp in front and she will deploy in combat situation ! And for a GW Space marine vehicle this one is incredibly aerodynamic and under gunned/ underskulled :) |

Keeps to the boxy 40K look. Fine by me. I have 150 freshmen and sophomore essays and 75 literature exams sitting on my desk at the college waiting to be graded. Last thing I need to is get into a grammar/usage battle! However, I will throw my forces in with Khurasan's Lexicographer Legions. |

This version of the Storm Eagle apparently sacrifices all its cargo capacity for firepower and ammunition, according to the psigram I received this morning on the topic. So it's more a dropgunship than a true dropship. |

the GI Joe Sand Serpent/Night Raven
online sites have them in the $25 USD-$45 range
certainly some higher but many lower.
20" x 13" so it has some size
which allows for the inclusion of a drop box under the carriage :D |

"And you wonder why people thing (sic) gamers are werid and lonely guys, tucked away in our little rooms, painting away and admiring each others handy work" Probably they think that because some of us don't know the second definition of sexy. |
twogunsblazing | 26 Sep 2013 3:10 a.m. PST |
Yeah, its pretty sexy!!! I reckon if you used some plasticard to cover up the areas where you removed weapons from and to also add some extra supporting structure to the cockpit windshield to make it appear to be a smaller scale, then it would serve well as a 15mm scale dropship. |
Parzival | 26 Sep 2013 4:46 a.m. PST |
Probably they think that because some of us don't know the second definition of sexy. Oh please. If you're going to criticize my point, criticize my point. Ad hominem gets you nowhere in my book. I fully understand that "sexy" has become a marketing buzzword designed to sell products which have nothing whatsoever to do with sexual attractiveness, and thus has fallen into the common lexicon as a generic term of appeal applied to virtually any object or idea. I just believe that such usage is weak, lazy and banal (not to mention somewhat stupid), and that "sexy" should be reserved for its original meaning, in which the word actually retains its effectiveness. I'm a writer, not a grammarian. I do not object to the usage based upon definition, but upon the banality of it. In short, as my quote was intended to convey, find a better word. Especially as 40K has got to be among the least sexually attractive activities on the planet. Unless, of course, you're a girl who plays 40K, in which case male players will be stumbling over their models to talk with you,* in the irrational belief that stories of their tabletop prowess will cause you to consent to a date. |

Cool ship. I'd make the following changes: - Remove the twin rotary cannon on the front. A rotary cannon's job is best done alone. See also A-10
- Cut the interior twin-bolter from each sponson so the turrets can traverse forwards.
- Remove the missile pods in the wings OR give them some sort of cover
- Remove horns from either side of the cockpit; replace with single pitot tube construct and perhaps a refueling drogue
- Then decide to build the whole thing out of foamcore. For 160 smackers
you could get a lot of offshelf parts for this
.

Okay, fair enough. Guess I'm getting a mite testy these days. In a radical departure from the societal norm, I blame myself. I will say that if an object not related to sex is to be described as sexy, I would suggest something like this:
or this:
or this:
or this:
Why? Because they have sweeping, curvy lines, and sleek, smooth skin, like a beautiful woman
and I shan't go further with that. But whatever can be said about GW/Forge World's vehicle designs, they are none of the above. So of all the words that can be used for the things they produce, good or bad, "sexy" ain't one of 'em. |

Maybe an alternate starter
the GI Joe Sand Serpent/Night Raven Keep looking in thrift stores; I've found at least two of the old Ravens. Interestingly, I had thought about using the first as an objective in a very old 40K Necromund-ish game scenario. Standing on it's tail. ;->= Have to admit, that Sand Serpent looks a better conversion fodder. Doug |

By the way, I should have attached a caveat to my above images: I'm pretty certain that men are really the only creatures who find the above objects "sexy." After considerable research, thought, and exploration of my "feminine side" (yes, I was willing to do that for you guys), I have determined that, setting aside attire (which of course is intended to attract the male gender), the objects which women find the most "sexy" are the following:
Preferably when found in a man's wallet.
