New on the blog, suggested rules for a random or referee-run "space monster" in Full Thrust, for use in spicing up fleet battles with an unexpected enemy:

As written, this guy should be a major pain for anywhere from 1000-3000 points of ships (and can sting even a larger force badly on the way out) but you could tweak the mechanics to make it less damaging and produce a critter that would work for scenarios emulating the classic Star Fleet Battles "heavy cruiser versus a monster" solo game.

very nice kitbash/sculpt. looks like a fun critter to game with .

How's your own astrofauna range coming along, Ravenstar?

haywire25 Sep 2013 7:15 a.m. PST

Reminds me of the Space 1999 Dragons Domain monster…

thing still gives me nightmares

they will be released in late Oct.12 different space creatures and I am also doing a Horrid fleet which are different than the astrofauna.

Chef Lackey Rich Fezian25 Sep 2013 7:41 a.m. PST

Awesome. Look forward to seeing them.

Looking fwd to what Ravenstar has in mind too.

Great idea and write, Rich!

(I like the critter, too).

I love it, but I'm a sucker for astrofauna of all types, so my opinion is a bit suspect.

I've got a Silent Death Solar Worm waiting on my work table right now, it's ridiculously adorable.

Love it, so got to run a game with one

Just a cross-link to Khurasan's Magellanic Nomad, a not-budong, to add to the list of astrofauna, though I don't think it's out, yet.
