First corp Agema Cataphract cavalry with full Barding at Palmyran allies of my WAB Middle Imperial Roman army. Any suggestions? |

I'm not sure what you're asking, but I think you want to know if 1st Corps' Agema Cataphracts would work as Palmyrans. Whose figures are you using for mid imperial romans? I'd be more inclined to look at A&A for cataphracts in that period. |

Yes, you can use them. I would also recommend mixing in some Parthian cataphracts as Palmira was heavily influenced by Eastern styles as much as Roman and Hellenistic. |

Sorry I wasn't clear its was late when I posted. For good or bad I have the figures, I need painting advice. At the moment im thinking iron armour for horse and rider and red for any cloth. |

I'm using warlord games plastic romans as ive already got those figures for my early Imperial army. |

I'd be more inclined to use bronze rather than iron. Either could be 'silvered'. |

Late Romans tried to use brass/bronze for horse armor as it was less likely to rust from the horse sweat. It was also probably cheaper. Use whatever cloth you want for figures. Red sounds right. |

One of the old Armies and Enemies books mentions blue with red trim for some Palmyran troops with officers reversing the scheme for what that may be worth. |
