Another short pictorial article on my blog, showcasing some kitbashed ESU spacewrecks, with some suggestions on how to use hulks in Full Thrust: link

Very cool! I was thinking of making a space hulk for an upcoming Rogue Trader rpg campaign and this is just the inspiration. |

with some suggestions on how to use hulks in Full Thrust: Whilst I consider the conversions not shabby, to say the least, THAT'S news I can use. Of course, I've never had a bad casting from Jon, but I will say accidents happen, and the next time someone carelessly crushes a ship with a heavy object, I'll have recourse other than gross bodily harm. ;->= Thanks, Rich! To be fair to Jon, the cruisers were probably damaged in transit by the postal service – they'd bashed the box around far more that was reasonable, and with the weight of metal in the order something had to give. The battlecruisers appear to have been a legit casting glitch where the aft hull had part of the "rear grill" just not forming properly. He's since corrected the problem, either by blocking that particular pocket in the mold or cutting a new vent so the metal could get in where it needed to be. And he did replace everything without complaint or delay, as you'd expect from a company with his reputation for customer service. Have seen the wrecks before on your old blog and they look awesome. The cruiser hulk is the only one I actually put up in the old days – the other two got done post-Battle Works Studios. Text is largely the same. I've got scenario using them floating around in draft form, but it needs a little more work before I try posting it. |

Nice work, all you need now is some very fine cotton wool to use as atmosphere leaking into space

On a related note, I remember talking with a guy who wanted to do an Aquan wreck for Firestorm Armada. Their ships are filled with water, so I suggested he do the hulk normally, then use some clear resin to add "ice" that had frozen around the hull breaches. Don't know if he evr went through with it. Wrecks certainly do offer plenty of scope for conversions and kitbashes. There's something wonderfully cathartic about hacking parts off a model, too. :) |

To be fair to Jon, Understood; I may have been complaining on never getting the extra goodies for my bits box. ;->= Of course, I may have some old CMD designs around that are missing parts which would suffice. Doug |

Some of the older sculpts (in Geo-Hex packaging) show up pretty regularly on ebay, often at quite low prices. Might be viable candidates for deliberately "hulking" some models. |
