I am wondering if anyone has tried using Chain of Command with Scenarios from a different origin (like SkirmishCampaigns). Most of the battle reports from CoC that Imhave read seem to place a big emphasis on their deployment rules. Does this work with the set-up zones usually used in scenarios? Also there seems to be a reliance on the TO&E's so does it work with the sometimes ad hoc unit compositions often encountered after prolonged engagements or late war? I am contemplating getting myself a copy of the rules, but I would like to see into this first. THX, Burkhard |

We played once with a deployment zone setup at start and then used the normal rules for the others (the pre-set one was a squad left out on it's own). Although the patrol phase and deployment rules are a big part of what differentiates CoC from other games it is not essential to use them. There is nothing wrong with starting one or both sides completely deployed in scenario specified areas. One thing you might want to try is having the Jump Off markers pre-positioned at the start of a game. From there just follow the normal game rules. Finally, I'm thinking of running an ambush scenario. A convoy is moving down a road, it has to be on table, the enemy gets one free interrupt for an ambush (and gets to pre-position Jump Off Points). After that the game starts playing as normal (with perhaps reinorcements coming from off board) |

14th Brooklyn, I don't see it as a problem at all. Joe |

14th Brooklyn, Rich has explained in the FAQ why he went with the TOEs for the generic lists provided in the rules, but there is nothing to stop you fielding different size units for a scenario if you wished. It may make them a little harder to balance in terms of the system of support contained in CoC, but that has presumably been taken care of in the scenario design anyway. John |

I have just ordered some more Skirmish Campaign books. They work perfectly well with CoC. I have just ordered the Winter War book in hope that it will be compatible with the Winter War Kickstarter. Does anyone have that book and can tell me if I have done the right thing? |

I field the figures I have, which don't always match the lists in the book. The game plays fine. Using scenarios from other sources should work without much alteration. |
