Any suggestions for good 25mm vehicles to convert for
post apoc? Military/civilian etc. A Garbage truck would be great!

1:43 is on the big size for 25/28mm, but New Ray makes a bunch of partly diecast commercial trucks in 1:43 that can be had for about 12-15 USD new. The rear bodies usually are plastic and pop off with a couple of screws so you can do what you will from there.

Most of the cabs will be diecast , so you're probably limited to add on plates and what not on that end.

I've bought from these guys in the past:

I would not use a 1:43 tractor trailer though. It will look absolutely enormous on a game table. It will be longer than pistol ranges in many games (I've got one, the trailer alone is > 11")

Lots to see at that link. They can stuff the floating postage advertisement though…….

I have a bunch of 1:43 diecasts. I second the above… and if you go for the smaller 1:60/1:72 (closer to 20mm scale for vehicles than 25mm) I even have a garbage truck.

Send me an email (this username@gmail) I can give you some scale pics, and show you my trade list

Here is a diecast 1:43 VW New Beetle that I kitbashed for this very purpose:

Nice link Gameorpaint, page three contains two great All Things Zombie vehicles; a Smart car and a monster truck. I must have them.

One of the guys in my club kitbashed a whole bunch of post-apoc vehicles using 1/43 and 1/56 diecast cars. Here's one of the blog posts he wrote about the process, with notes on where he got the cars: link

And some pics of the finished products:

One of my favorite subjects. I'll be doing lots of Post Apoc kit bashing this winter.
