I was talking to my friend yesterday about doing a "retro" project(we've been gaming since we were 13 years old,and we started doing games together in 1978).I posed my next project as old style 1/72 Napoleonics, where we started. So far as the plastics are concerned,we are just waaaay too spoiled for choice.

My rules for this project are-1/72 plastics or 20mm metals only.Figures basic painted, may be magic dipped but have a glossy varnish.Bases are card, either paper or plastic.Base painted w/ green poster paint.Basing requirements so that FoGN,Black Powder or "Pas de Charge" can be played.I think that 60 x 20 w/ 4 figures for infantry will fit the bill.

I dont think I'm going to do any old school terrain, but I will build 1 or 2 houses out of cardboard like I did many moons ago,and a few HO model railroad buildings to be present.

I drew the line on playing on the floor.

I know you're not looking for many buildings – but these are very oldscchool :

auction

They used to be sold through National Trust shops amongst others – not sure if they still do. Had a pretty wide range, many more applicable to your period auction . Very easy to assemble – supporting walls are precut wood, other parts are pre-cut thick cardboard.

Oh – and Dapol link still make the old airfix trackside buildings – surely you need a church, a thatched house and a windmill ? grin

Sounds like a fun project.
