New on my blog, an article on how to speed up your Full Thrust thresh checks, also handy for players of Star Fleet Battles, Classic Battletech, and old-school Starfire: link Man is a tool-using animal, best to take advantage of that. :) |

I have to say that's a very neat idea! Thank you! |

This is a great way to speed play. I assembled one of these devices for games of Starfleet Wars. I call mine the Box O' Death™

I think the first time I ever saw the basic idea was in an SFB group way back in the mid-80s myself. Surprising how few people go to the (minor) effort of putting one together, though. Mine is more accurately named the Box o' Broken Fire Controls than anything else. :) |

I love the "not-a-uniform" look of using the same set of colors for every model, in different ways. Chalfant |

In all my years I've never seen this gadget. As brilliant as it is elegant in it's simplicity, Rich! Mind If I steal this? I promise to blame you for the idea, of course

Wasn't mine originally, BWP. Just passing a good idea along. |

I saw this on Facebook last night. The only problem that was mentioned was the noise that the dice make. I plan on trying this with with a softer plastic box. |

Beats my idea; I was going to use dice color-coded to SSDs. Really only good for smaller ships, though. Doug Edit: I guess this from the replies-to-blog is about equivalent: I did something similar -- I took ten dice and marked the one-pip sides 1 – 10, and numbered the systems on my ship displays |

Yep, that technique could work too. Plenty of approaches to it, I just like the numbered-pocket one myself – partly because it's versatile and can be adapted to 2d6, d10, or 2d10 systems just by swapping around what dice you've got in the pocket. |

Nice. This would also be a great solution for shooting with infantry teams in Gruntz. |

Hadn't thought of that, but yeah, I'd think it work pretty well there too. |
