I think the AD&D Battle System is still one of my favorite sets of rules. Unfortunately it falls down on points values and army structures. At times I think about doing a retro-clone of Battlesystem for my Dark Passagers neo-clone. What can I say, everyone was doing it, you can see it here if you care to PDF link In that line of thought, has anyone put together a functional system for setting the points value of characters and monsters? |

On the Yahoo group there is a "corrected" points list that adds many new monsters and humanoids, but the person who developed it did not include a how-to. In my games I don't worry about points, I just make up two armies and we game

My own leaning would be towards assessing the resources available and building forces based on infrastructure as it were. Not just gold pieces but population, food, water, wood, and mines. However, if there is an online Battle System community, I'm an outsider and don't know what is or isn't out there. |
