I have an old spincast mold and the rights to produce the minis. However my mold is very old and wasn't cut too good. My caster desires to rework the mold from the best models produced. I need to know if there exists enough level of interest in these old school ACW models to justify the expense. Please state your opinion. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hi Wargamer1972 I already have an extensive collection of 'Old School' ACW figures. They are 30mm figures from Spencer Smith Miniatures. I do not know of any other wargamer in my neck of the woods who has such a collection although I know of many who have 28mm or 15mm ACW collections. ACW and 'Old School' in combination are relatively rare then. I imagine that this is true across large parts of hobby. It would be nice if I was wrong. One of the drawbacks of my Spencer Smith collection is the lack of pose variation although the range is more extensive than the poses displayed in your post. If I were to be starting again I would certainly be looking for a range of poses covering infantry, cavalry including dismounted, artillery and command. Your figures displayed above do not meet that requirement. I wish you the best of luck with your venture should you decide to proceed. Jim |

Zero. I like ACW but I use 1/72nd scale plastic and these don't look like they would work well with them. Mike Bunkermeister Creek bunkermeister.blogspot.com |

Are those from the old Bussler (spelling?) 25 mm line? I have a few that I bought around 1976 that are identical to several of the figures you show. The figure running with left foot in the air and holding its rifle down and horizontal came in two pieces – the right arm with rifle had to be attached to the body. All that said I still have some unpainted and so would be unlikely to buy more. They're just too skinny. |

My small Rose 20mm figures sell quite well, my much larger Garrison 25mm ACW did poorly and I withdrew the range. In my view, unless you want the figures for your own use save your money. |

I appreciate the honesty. I don't much care for them either. To eBay with it! Thanks. |

I don't know anybody with plain 25mm ACW either. |

Just wait another five years, and re-brand them as "large 18mm" figures, and you're good to go! |

I'd give it a zero, but those sculpts aren't bad at all. |

Do you only have the one mold? I see you've posted it now on ebay. I have some of these figures that I had picked up on ebay some years ago and never knew of the origins They do match in with 1/72 scale plastics. Moreso the Italeri sets than the Imex/Accurate but any other metals in this scale they are also a perfect match to. The figures I have also include a Nap cannon, limber, flag bearer advancing and mounted officer on rearing horse. |
