Are they the same? I have an unopened set of Wings of War from Nexus; are the Ares rules the same or did they change them? I'm thinking about picking up some early WWII biplanes and it would be great if I could use my WoW rules with them instead of buying a new set. Thanks. |

Miniature quality has fallen off with the new stuff |

I suspect they changed the name to WoG, since the price for the original, trademarked name was probably cost prohibitive. Pure conjecture on my part of course. Perhaps instead, they just wanted to set the "new" company apart from the old. Sad to hear quality has suffered. |

The name was changed purely to create a new identity, according to the chats I've had with Ares. Trademark wasn't an issue. |

I'm not that quality has fallen off, at least for WWI. I've got a mix of Wings of War and Wings of Glory models. They're slightly different, none are perfect, but I'd be hard pressed to say which are actually better, let alone make a judgement that would apply to the entire line rather than just individual models. I might add that the variation runs from very good to less good. I don't have any that are embarrassing. Every one is a bargain for 10 dollars or so (considering they include a deck and stand). Every single one of the is orders of magnitude better than the absolute best miniatures produced by Wizkids and the like. |

Imo the quality of the WWI planes fell off significantly. My WWII Wings of Glory planes look as sharp as the Wings of War. I have all the planes from the first sets up to right before the biplanes because those didn't interest me. I'm jazzed that the Mustangs are coming this month. |

I don't think the quality has fallen at all. I have literally every single WW1 plane ever made. People do pay good money for the older stuff as it is hard to find. wingsofwar.org has a forum to check out. |

The WW1 series 1 reprints were noticeably and significantly reduced in detail and overall quality over the originals. Ares copped a lot of flak over that and the next WW1 series were much better. Still a few noticeable errors – the squashed appearance of the Sopwith Triplane due to the upper struts being too short is the main complaint, but overall a lot better and the paint schemes, of the Austrians in particular, are lovely. |

I'm very happy with my Hanroit fighters and DH.2 pusher. |

The models are fine but who the heck designed the new low visibility decks that blend in so well with the new game mat colors? link |
