Greetings, comrades. I'm putting together a large scale game concept with 1/600 scale (that's roughly 3mm) units. One side is a bunch of creepy crawlies… Mostly repurposed Monsterpocalypse figures. As there will be an aerial component to the game (dirigibles in 1:/600 scale) I would like to find some reasonably affordable Cthonian flyers. To be specific, large, slimy and hopefully tentacly in more or less 1/600.. Of course creatures from other scales work, too, if they're not too large or small. I want to have a balanced response to the dirigibles. I know Monsterpocalypse' Lords of Cthul series has a "Squix" flying creature, but that's very tiny.. Like a Viper flying against the Xylon Base Star in my mind's eye. Anyone know of something that would look good mounted on a flight stand? Like floating jelly fish or something?

As always, thanks for your kind assistance.

Err, "Cthonian Flyer" is a bit of an oxymoron, since "Cthonian" means "from the underworld"… You may mean "Cthulian" or some other made-up Lovecraftian word…

Goroloths from Reaper. At these prices, they're probably pretty big!

I know what Cthonian means. It does evoke a Cthulhu like look and feel, which is exactly what I meant. Thanks, yquilla sand Charles!

That RAFM monster isn't a flyer but he might make a great boss bad guy.

It's unfortunately not out yet, but Khurasan's Magellanic Nomad looks like a possibility. TMP link

For those of us who have no idea what this thread was about:

Chthonians are described as immense squids, with elongated worm-like bodies coated with slime. Despite their squid-like appearance, chthonians are land-dwellers and are even harmed by water. Chthonians are powerful burrowers, live for more than a thousand years, and are protective of their young. It is said that a chanting sound accompanies every chthonian, and that by such they can be detected while underground and unseen.

The most important individual chthonian is the gigantic Shudde M'ell, which is worshiped by the rest.

In Greek mythology, "chthonian" refers to beings that inhabit the underworld; they are considered to be the dark, shadowy counterparts of the Olympians.[1]

Forgive me. "Giant squiddy looking things" looked a little clumsy.
