I was lucky enough to spot this as I left my house this afternoon:

She was doing the Shoreham and Bournemouth air shows this weekend

Yep, I'm just along the coast from Shoreham. Quite an interesting sky here today!

and a Hurricane. All 3 are part of the Battle of Britain Memorial flight.
They fly in formation at air shows.

I might have missed the Spitfire today but only saw the Lancaster and Hurricane. As Schoie88 says, it's usually the trio….

I'm in Brighton and caught some of the show. It was very good. Saw the Battle of Britain memorial flight and the B17 Flying Fortress escorted by the B25 Mitchell. Very majestic. We missed the Lancaster sadly

On the way to displays, the Hurricane and Spit will often peel off and do solo flypasts/quick displays and then join back up again with the Lanc.

I bet the sound was great!

I saw a B-25 Mitchell and two Harvards pass over our house just before the Abbostford Airshow, too bad I didn't have my glasses on, a tad blurry.

That nearly took my chimney off a couple of weeks back on the second day of the Blackpool airshow. Wondered what on earth was going over, rushed out the back to see it banking over the neighbours gardens as it turned to head to back to Blackpool prom. majestic
