Just curious to see if anyone has tried using this (Sculpey Super Elasticlay Mold Maker) for making small molds, and casting resin parts in it?

It's relatively cheap ($11 for 8 oz.), and one of the reviews says it takes heat well, so thought it might be a decent option for making small, 1" x 1" or less, to 1" x 3" length bits using it. The parts will probably be only about 1/8" – 1/4" in thickness.

Apparently, once you bake it, it remains cured, and flexible.

Another option would be Alumilite Mold Putty, which is a little more expensive, running $30 USD for 16 oz. of the stuff:

I'm open to any other suggestions as well, for producing a small quantity of inexpensive, mold making material that is compatible with epoxy resins.

I'm thinking about using EasyCast, since supposedly it is made for producing small items from it. Standard resins are harder to get the right mix apparently, in very small quantities, so may not fully cure, or may cure too rapidly for my needs.

I'm open to other suggestions for it as well, for small, detail and prototype parts production.

Thoughts?

I used to use greenstuff for making small one part molds. Mostly for 40K skulls and small details to be added to miniatures.
