I'm thinking of getting a pack of plastic Zulu Wars British – either Warlord Games or Wargames Factory. I'm interested in opinions on both sets. I'd want to make some of them up as historical and some as Victorian SF, so I'm looking for ones that are open to conversion possibilities. I'm also interested in extra weapons from the packs to put on other figures, so which set is best in that respect ? |

Did we have more than one war with the Zulu? |

I'd probably go Warlord rather than Wargames Factory as Warlord has a mix of kneeling & standing, look to be a bit easier to pose other than pure "firing", and have a range of other figures incl heavier weapons. Both ought to take the VSF heads that Meridian are mid-way through launching: link though no-one has as yet shown any size comparison shots of these to be certain |

Definitely go for the warlord set. As well as what Phil says above, the wargames factory set was one of the first they did and the detail is very soft. |

Are all the sprues on the Warlord set the same ? It doesn't look like you get any spare weapons or equipment on the sprue shown on the Warlord website. |

All the sprues in a box are identicle, Marshal Mark. |

Mr Plant I believe there was a much smaller scale zulu uprising around 1904,not quite sure on the year.Regards Terry. |

Wargames factory allow a more varied mix of poses, Warlord are better detailed, but only allow a 50:50 mix of kneeling and standing. Already having a WF company of redcoats, I had a look at a box of Warlord and decided they were not sufficiently better to wish to replace my WF figures. |

Hi Marshal, As of tonight I have just uploaded the Zulu Wars figures from Wargames Factory for sale on my website. I am UK based (click my name for the website). So if you decide to go with WGF I sell them! There are 25 in a pack despite it saying only 20. Here's the link: link |

Hi Marshal, Youve probably decided, and I'd like to know what you did finally choose. But just to let you know WGF Brits are 25 figs per set now, and the Zulus are 30. The Brits give you 5 identical sprues, so little variation but are pretty nice. |
