As I made a 28mm Minas Tirith I photographed from start to finish. It took about 7 weeks or so. I did a lot of reading and learned some stuff for a few weeks before I started. It is made out of extruded foam and Styrofoam, except for the GamesWorkshop Minas Tirith walls I used ( gave me a reason to buy some sets). Anyways, it is very pic heavy, but I enjoy looking back at the work I had to do to make my dream come true of having the battle of Pelennor Fields with Minas Tirith in the game. Also I wanted to post the pics in the case of someone else wanting to try to make something out of extruded foam. When I was looking there was not too many sites offering help. Minas Tirith is large, so not many people have the space, which is understandable. I have a large garage for my gaming, and my weakness is siege warfare
so I have lots of castles and cities. Making things out of foam isn't as hard as it seems. Keep in mind, I consider myself a complete rookie, and think my stuff is ok. There are way too many more people that do it so much better than myself. But I am happy with my results. link
Thank you for looking.

Thank you to all! I still think I am a rookie
.I will have to fine tune it one day
I am not pleased with the Citadel on top
I used about 4 Pegasus Gothic kits to make it, I scratch built the roof, but the Gothic architect does not flow well with the rest of the fortress. But hey, I got the tools to do it. I was in a hurry, I set myself a deadline before I went completely mad. Tom |

The thing that sucked the most while I was making it, was making the battlements. I made about 500 of them. Not all of the came out good, and I calculated that in while I was making them. Tom |

Thank you, I made the bricks the same size to match the GW walls, and raised them up about 2 inches I think. They came out pretty good. I bought 3 sets of the Minas Tirith walls
I almost want to buy 3 more sets
.why I do not know. tom link |

Next time how about makng comments between pictures. After about 20 photos it all begins to run together. If you did some commentary, explaining how or why you did something, it would make it a lot easier to follow. It would also be helpful to anyone who wished to emulate what you have done. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I would settle for about 500 words per picture. |

Yowee ! I had no idea that the photo posted above shows LESS THAN HALF of the entire terrain piece ! My hat is off, and I bow low to a master modeler. |
