Hello, I got a message concerning my planets so I have put up a post showing some of them in more detail.
Please visit link for more pictures.

Hmmm – been doing planets on and off for years and for some reason doing a distinct nightside never occurred to me until now. Good idea, consider it stolen. That space elevator is genius. You could have some fun with megastructures too – a halo ring with multiple elevator shafts would look pretty cool. |

Very nice. I too never considered having a nightside, but now I realize it is strange not too have one. Unless you are in a binary system or something, all planets should have a nightside. |

Very nicely done, and yes to Space Elevators! |

Excellent work! I would never have thought about doing a day/night cycle or installing a space elevator. Thanks for giving me ideas. |

I think my confusion about an earlier piccie was that I assumed the terminator on planets with atmospheres was less distinct. I've seen images of the earth both ways, mind you. Of course, we look at spacehips with earth eyes; washes and dry brushing for shading tend to be inappropriately blended. If there's enough light for a shadow, should be sharp. *shrug* Lovely beasts, though. Well done! Doug |

Brilliant! Love the concepts, and the execution. I really like your table surface board, with the star, complete with gaseous halo surrounding it. Everything makes for a very interesting, complex space environment -- tremendous eye candy! Cheers! |

Thank you for all your comments we have more planets in the pipeline also I will try to get some better pictures of "Big Daddy" our gas giant. I really like the idea of a halo ring! will see what we can whip up. We have a upcoming game that will feature a large asteroid field and space stations that I am really looking forward to. Here is a Ringworld I made up a number of years ago. It's just a wooden cross-stitching hoop dabbed with spackle. Now that I have a much better digicam, I should take some better pics of it.
I've been trying to find a decent sea turtle and elephants so that I can make a Discworld

I've seen several examples of beautifully painted planets + asteroids. All seem to be mounted on clear plastic stands. Where do you get these? My local craft store (MJ Designs) didn't know what I was talking about. |

There are some great ideas here, and well executed! |

I think those are Litko, barcah2001. They and Corsec are the two sources you should definitely be aware of, and each an easy google away. Doug |

Thank you Beast--that's it! Now I just have to learn to paint like Anders

My stands are from Hawk wargames and I'm exceptionally pleased with them. I planning to redo the blogg into a proper Website during the autumn so that's why it's been so quite. The full thrust table will come out during the summer and I will be able to show of the new terrain then. Regards, Anders |
